Brief Description:  Scramble to get ready!!!!!

This is my Construction Log for my Van's Aircraft RV7. I mailed the check for the Quick Build kit for this aircraft on December 2nd, 2005. My Empennage kit arrived the next week but I wanted more metal working practice before I began so I attended a SportAir Metalworking class/workshop in OSH in the end of January. I had also attended a short workshop put on by the Minnesota Wing of Van's Aircraft with Tom Berge on Saturday, December 10th, 2005. Both of these classes and workshops were very helpful and informative. I purchased KitLog Pro in December 2005 thinking I would not be using it until March. I intend to make occasional postings to the internet (through this program) so that friends and family can check on my progress easily and to keep me from having to answer continuous questions like 'how's it going' and 'when will you be finished'. I have a lot to learn so I am going to take my time and try to be meticulous and do quality work. Speaking of a lot to learn, I should have put the Able Assistant's (and Chief Financial Officer) picture BEFORE the new compressor! Good thing she is so understanding. So, here is the first of many entries in what hopefully will become a very successful undertaking: Tony Partain called on 2/6/06 at about 1510 local. He said that his driver (Harry Wingard) had just picked up my QB kit and was on his way!!! He gave me Harry's cellphone number and wished me luck. I am not ready!!! I have been procrastinating getting the shop ready in the garage because I did not expect delivery until the middle of March. A panic call to work gave me the day off on the 7th (Thanks Glen for covering for me!). I spent a long day cleaning out the garage, moving items to Hudson into storage, rebuilding (new top) the workbench I bought used last month, and setting up the new compressor I just bought. I have waited to make some of these decisions because of the expense (trying to find good used stuff) but now is the time for action. I have ordered my tools from Cleveland Aircraft
